About the event

The Mayor of the City of Warsaw invites to the international online conference #warsawfortheyoungest – Supporting the development of children under the age of three in nurseries. Best practices and new challenges.

On 30 November – 1 December 2023, the 4rd international conference is held in Warsaw. The programme of of the conference is addressed to professionals working in the childcare and education sector, including directors and managers of nurseries, children’s clubs, day care providers and representatives of local government units and entrepreneurs.

The conference is organised by the City of Warsaw and Zespół Żłobków m.st. Warszawy [the Municipal Nursery Complex of the City of Warsaw] in cooperation with keynote foreign and national experts in early childhood education and care.

The conference is a forum for the exchange of international and national experiences in the field of conditions and quality of care, upbringing and education of the youngest children, as well as support for their development in institutional care.

Organisational info

  • Participation in the conference is free of charge.
  • A link with redirection to the event will be sent to the e-mail address indicated in the form. The link will also be available on the conference website.
  • The webcast will be carried out on YouTube platform.
  • There will be an opportunity to ask questions if having an account on YouTube platform.
  • The lectures on the first day will be presented in English with Polish subtitles.
  • We do not issue certificates.
  • Recordings of the event will be available on the website until the following day at 10 am

thomas moser

Thomas Moser is a full professor of ECEC research at the National Center for Learning Environment and Behavioral Research at the University of Stavanger, Norway.

His current research interests focus on kindergarten’s quality and effects, especially inclusion, children’s social-emotional-development, curriculum issues, professional development, well-being and learning, space and materiality. He was involved in several national and international research projects in the field of ECEC.

Moser was member of several governmental appointed committees in Norway and has been the chair of the board of the National Graduate School of Teacher Education (NAFOL).

Tim Gill is a global advocate for children’s outdoor play and mobility, and an independent scholar, writer, and consultant based in London. 

He is the author of Urban Playground: How child-friendly planning and design can save cities (RIBA Publications) and No Fear: Growing up in a risk-averse society (described in the New York Times as “a handbook for the movement for freer, riskier play”).

A UK Design Council Ambassador and Churchill Fellow, Tim holds degrees in philosophy and psychology from Oxford and London Universities, and an honorary doctorate in education from Edge Hill University.
